Porsche Penske Captures Third Straight Win At 24 Hours Of Daytona

Porsche Penske Motorsport earned its third consecutive victory in the Rolex 24 At Daytona today, with the No. 7 Porsche 963 driven by Felipe Nasr (Brazil), Julien Andlauer (France) and Laurin Heinrich (Germany) teaming for the victory. The Porsche crossed the finish line just 1.569 seconds ahead of the second-place Cadillac after 24 hours and 705 laps (2,509.8 miles) of racing.

It’s the third consecutive win in the race for Porsche Penske Motorsport, and for Nasr as an individual. The Brazilian is just the third driver in race history to win the race three times in a row, joining Peter Gregg in 1973 and 1975-1976 (there was no race in 1974) and Helio Castroneves from 2021 to 2023.

This year marks Penske’s 60th anniversary of fielding a racing organisation, and the 88-year-old owner’s expectations for performance were established by the sports car program. In the most famous endurance sports car race in the US, his No. 7 Porsche entry showed the way to the checkered flag the at Daytona on Sunday.

“With this Porsche Penske Motorsport squad, winning the 24 Hours of Daytona three times in a row is an amazing feat. At Daytona International Speedway,” Penske stated, “That sustained success is only achieved with great teamwork, focused and determined drivers, a resilient crew, and a commitment to winning.”

The No. 6 sister car driven by Kévin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor and Matt Campbell finished fourth, while customer racing program JDC-Miller Motorsports finished seventh in their No. 85 Porsche 963.

Manthey had the top finish of six Porsche 911 GT3 R entries, finishing sixth in the GTD Pro class.

Penske’s sports car program, which won both the Rolex and the overall IMSA championship in 2024 and 2025, is undeniably exceptional. Numerous lineups have contributed to the success, with Brazilian driver Felipe Nasr being the only winner of the three consecutive Rolex victories. As a result of Nasr, a Brazilian driver has been a member of the winning team for the past six seasons. Helio Castroneves, a fellow countryman, was a member of the winning teams for the preceding three.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

In victory lane, Penske joked that Nasr was “Penske Material” because he showed up for their first encounter in a secret parking lot wearing a full navy suit.
