Toyota Yaris Cross In Indonesia: What You Need To Know

Toyota has introduced the 2023 Yaris Cross in Indonesia, marking the first Southeast Asian market to receive the new subcompact SUV.  Sharing its platform with the Yaris hatchback, the Yaris Cross boasts a tougher exterior design and a higher ride height.

Buyers can opt for one of two powertrain options available for the Yaris Cross: a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline engine or a hybrid powertrain that combines a 1.5-liter engine with an electric motor.  It comes equipped with features like 16-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a rearview camera.

As it enters the Indonesian market, the Yaris Cross is expected to compete against rival subcompact SUVs such as the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, and Nissan Kicks. Pricing is expected to start around Rp 300,000,000 ($20,000).

OUR THOUGHTS

The Toyota Yaris Cross brings a fresh and thrilling addition to Indonesia’s subcompact SUV segment. With its appealing blend of stylish and sturdy exterior design, comfortable interior, and diverse powertrain options, the Yaris Cross is poised to be a sought-after selection among Indonesian buyers seeking a fashionable and practical SUV.
