Two New Special Edition Suzuki Jimnys Debut In Malaysia

The launch of two new special compact Suzuki Jimny SUVs will pique interest in Malaysia. With the release of the Black Edition and Rainforest Edition of its renowned Jimny, Naza Eastern Motors, the official dealer of Suzuki vehicles in Malaysia, has definitely caught the attention of local media. Distinctive styling cues distinguish both variants from the regular Jimny.

The Jimny Black Edition inherits a different look thanks to its sophisticated details and unique black accents, which combine off-road ability with contemporary design. It has a front grille with a carbon finish, a spare tyre cover and a multi-roof rack. The interior features two-tone Nappa leather upholstery, carpet floor mats, black grab handle wraps with vivid green stitching and an elegant audio garnish bumper.

In contrast, vivid interior colours serve as the inspiration for the Jimny Rainforest Edition. This version, which is painted a jungle green tint, has body decals, mud flaps that resemble jungle vegetation, and a front grille that has been camouflaged. Inside, there are camouflage elements on the carpet floor mats, the door handle cover, and the area surrounding the rearview mirror.

The car’s 1.5 litre naturally aspirated VVT engine also powers the special edition Jimny vehicles. This powerplant produces 100 hp and 130Nm of torque and employs a four-speed automatic transmission coupled with a part-time four-wheel-drive system.

Regarding pricing, the Jimny Black Edition retails for RM 171,900 (on-the-road without insurance), while the Jimny Rainforest Edition costs RM 168,900. Like the regular Jimny, both models are entirely imported from Japan and are covered by a three-year/100,000-kilometer manufacturer’s guarantee.

Since it was first launched in 1970, the Jimny has been one of Suzuki’s biggest-selling models with global sales exceeding 2.85 million units in 194 countries. Launched in 2018, the fourth-generation Jimny is a big hit wherever it goes on sale. Even in its home country of Japan, buyers have to line up and sometimes wait for over 6 months to get their car. And now with two competitively priced special editions for 2024 that really accentuate the true essence of this courageous go-anywhere mini-SUV, buyers will have even more reason to go for this segment leader.
